This website is maintained by the IAIS for information purposes only. Selected parts of this website are restricted to members and observers. Use of this website constitutes agreement by users of this website ("Users") with the following terms and conditions.
 

Copyright and permissions

All copyright and other intellectual property rights in the content of this website are owned by the IAIS. Unless otherwise stated, all rights are reserved.

The IAIS reserves the right to deny in its sole discretion any User access to this website or any part thereof without notice. The IAIS also reserves the right in its sole discretion to alter, limit or discontinue the website or any materials herein in any respect without separate announcement. Some of the materials on this website may contain references to materials from third parties for which copyright must also be honoured.

With respect to the public area of the IAIS website, Users are granted permission to:

  • browse website material (including making such copies on temporary storage devices as necessary to facilitate such browsing); 
  • download, store in cache, display, print, reproduce, distribute or translate the existing documents in unaltered form, provided it is not used for private or commercial gain. Reproduction, distribution or translation require additionally that:
    • the IAIS is cited as the source and the copyright holder,
    • a statement is included that the document is available free of charge on the IAIS website www.iaisweb.org
    • any translation into another language than English (the official language for IAIS documents) contains a prominent disclaimer that it is not an official IAIS translation.

Except for the specified uses outlined above, no part of the IAIS website or the materials herein may be used in any form or by any means without prior written permission from the IAIS. Requests should be directed to IAIS@bis.org.

Users are granted permission to create links to the IAIS website, subject to the following conditions:

  • Users that create a link to the IAIS website have to send a notification to the IAIS Secretariat (IAIS@bis.org) immediately with the URL of the website where the new link resides.
  • Users are not allowed to use the IAIS logo in conjunction with the link.
  • The IAIS reserves the right to annul the granted permission at any time without reason.

Privacy Policy

Through the use of various technological tools - including, but not limited to, cookies, tags, beacons and Internet Protocol (IP) addresses - the IAIS may collect information about Users' browsing history as well as certain other information related to Users' use of and visits to the IAIS website. 

The IAIS uses cookies to collect information about how the IAIS website is being used.  Cookies are small text files that are stored on a User’s device when the User visits the IAIS website. Cookies store certain preferences that help with the operation of the IAIS website. The IAIS only stores cookies for the purpose of improving browsing and for proper functioning of the IAIS website.

The IAIS may also collect information that personally identifies Users ("Personally Identifiable Information") when Users provide such information to the IAIS, including but not limited to User’s name and e-mail address. Furthermore, in communicating with Users, the IAIS may use Personally Identifiable Information for the purpose of personalising and improving the usability of the IAIS website and services. By continuing to use this website, Users consent to the use of their information, including their Personally Identifiable Information, as outlined herein.

The IAIS will treat such Personally Identifiable Information as confidential.
 

General

The IAIS may at any time without notice:

  1. add to, update or modify material on this website; or
  2. limit access to or discontinue the whole or any part of this website.

Nothing in these terms and conditions shall constitute a waiver of any of the privileges or immunities of the IAIS in any jurisdiction. 

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Switzerland.
 

Password Disclaimer

Users have a unique username and password in order to access their account and to protect unauthorized access to their account information. Users agree to keep their password confidential, and to contact IAIS in the event that they have misplaced or disclosed it to any unauthorized parties. Users are wholly responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their password. If users believe for any reason that the security of their username or password has been compromised, they are urged to contact IAIS.

IAIS cares about members privacy and also about confidential content available to them. That is why IAIS is making some changes to its password policy (valid from March 2018).

Please read the following rules:

  1. Overview - Passwords are an important aspect of computer security. A poorly chosen password may result in unauthorized access and/or exploitation of its resources. All users, with access to the application, are responsible for taking the appropriate steps, as outlined below, to select and secure their passwords.
  2. Purpose - The purpose of this policy is to establish a standard for creation of strong passwords, the protection of those passwords, and the frequency of change.
  3. Scope - The scope of this policy includes all personnel who have or are responsible for an account (or any form of access that supports or requires a password) on any application that resides at any IAIS facility, has access to the IAIS applications, or stores any non-public IAIS information.
  4. Policy
    1. Password Change
      • The password must be changed at the requested period.
      • You are not allowed to use any of your last three passwords.
      • You will be notified about your password expiration several times, before your password expires via email. You can also change your password right away from the email link. The email link expiration period is stated in the email.
      • After expiration, an email with link instructions will be sent to you, so you can change your password according to password guidelines. The email link expiration period is stated in the email.
      • If the link you received in your email has expired, you must to follow the instructions in the email or on the screen shown after clicking the link. Should you experience any issues with changing your password please contact helpdesk@iaisweb.org.
      • You can change your password at any time by using 'Change/Forgot password' functionality, except if your password has already expired. Please note that changing your password through the 'Change/Forgot password' functionality will not prolong the expiration of the changed password. 
    2. Password Protection
      1. Passwords must not be shared with anyone. Your password is to be treated as sensitive, confidential IAIS information.
      2. Passwords must not be inserted into any forms of electronic communication.
      3. Passwords must not be revealed over the phone to anyone. 
      4. Do not reveal a password on questionnaires or security forms other than the IAIS website. 
      5. Do not share IAIS passwords with anyone, including administrative assistants, secretaries, managers, co-workers while on vacation, and family members. 
      6. Do not write passwords down and store them anywhere in your office. Do not store passwords in a file on a computer system or mobile devices (phone, tablet) without encryption.
      7. Do not save your password into the web browser.
      8. Any user suspecting that her/his password may have been compromised must report the incident to the IAIS and change their password.
      9. The IAIS will never ask for your login details.
